Six Questions qualify for oral answer. See the Order Paper.
The Leader of the Opposition sought leave of the House to raise as a definite matter of urgent public importance, the issue of a possible repeat of the police exercise on Monday which had the effect of inconveniencing much of the commuting public in Trinidad and Tobago. The Speaker ruled that the matter did not qualify under this standing order but should be raised as a matter on the Motion for the adjournment of the House.
The Leader of the House moved a Motion which asks the House to express its lack of confidence in the Leader of the Opposition. The Member for Diego Martin Central was the first to respond, followed by the Minister of Legal Affairs and Justice, the Minister of State in the Ministry of the People and Social Development, the Member for Chaguanas West and the Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development, during whose contribution the debate was suspended.
At the next sitting, debate is expected to continue on the Motion of loss of confidence, as well as Motions three and four on the Order Paper. The sitting ended at 6:36 p.m.
