Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Prakash Ramadhar, MP for St. Augustine, from today’s Sitting of the House.
The Speaker informed of correspondence received from the Vice-President of the Senate regarding the concurrence of the Senate with the House in the referral of the Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2019 to a Joint Select Committee.
Ms. Ramona Ramdial, MP for Couva North, lodged a petition on behalf of the Kabir Association of Trinidad of Lime Head Road, Chase Village, Chaguanas requesting a change of name of the organisation, via private bill, to the Kabir Panth Association of Trinidad and Tobago. The petitioner was granted leave to proceed.

Five urgent questions were posed. Questions have been appended to the Order Paper.
Fourteen questions qualified for oral answer. Question #140 was deferred.
Hon. Ayanna Webster-Roy, MP, made a statement on the Annual Report of the Children’s Authority 2018.
The Minister of Education, Hon. Anthony Garcia, MP, made a statement on the Education Policy Paper 2017-2022 which the Cabinet has recently adopted.
One Bill, The Miscellaneous Provisions (Registrar General, Registration of Deeds, Conveyancing and Law of Property, Real Property, Stamp Duty and Registration of Title to Land) Bill, 2019, was introduced in the name of the Attorney General.
The Leader of the House moved a motion that the JSC on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill, 2018 be allowed an extension to complete its work and submit a final report by May 6, 2019. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of The Civil Asset Recovery and Management and Unexplained Wealth Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill.
