Leave of absence was granted to Hon. Pennelope Beckles, MP for Arima from sittings of the House during the period June 21 -25, 2024 and to Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, S.C., MP for Siparia and Ms. Anita Haynes-Alleyne, MP for Tabaquite from today’s Sitting of the House.

Three urgent questions were posed and answered.
Three questions qualified for oral answer. All questions were answered.
The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, made a statement regarding the Report of the Auditor General on the consolidated financial statements of the Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation (TTUTC) for the year ended December 2023.
The Prime Minister continued his wind-up of the Whistleblower Protection Bill, 2022. The Bill was then read a second time. The Bill was then considered by a Committee of the Whole House clause by clause. The Bill was then read a third time. A division was taken at third reading, the result of which was 22 for, 15 against and no abstentions. The Bill was passed.
Debate resumed (from Feb 16, 2024) on the Miscellaneous Provisions (Testing and Identification) Bill, 2022. Following four contributions, the Minister of National Security, Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, wound up the debate. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole and approved with amendments. With 36 votes for, no votes against and no abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.
