Leave of absence was granted to Sen. Dr. Lester Henry who is out of the country and Sen. Sophia Chote, S.C., who is ill. Ms. Alisha Romano and Mr. John Heath were appointed to replace Senators Henry and Chote respectively.

The President of the Senate informed Senators of the resolutions of the House on May 31, 2017 to establish a Joint Select Committee to review levels of Health Care Delivery and to establish a Joint Select Committee to consider the Draft National Development Strategy 2016-2030.
The Bail (Access to Bail)(Amendment) Bill, 2017, which was passed in the House of Representatives on May 31, 2017, was read a first time in the Senate in name of the Attorney General.

Debate continued on the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2017. The Committee Stage of this Bill will be considered at the next Sitting of the Senate.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment dealing with the Educational Facilities Company Limited (EFCL). The Acting Minister of Education, Hon. Terrence Deyalsingh, MP, responded.
Sen. Wade Mark raised another matter involving the disbursement of pensions for retired fire officers in accordance with Act 22 of 2006. Sen. the Hon. Dennis Moses responded.
