Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan and Sen. the Hon. Paula Gopee-Scoon who are both ill. Leave of absence was also granted to Sen. the Hon. Dennis Moses, Senator Allyson Baksh and Senator Daniel Solomon who are out of the country. Mr. Ndale Young, Mr. Wayne Innis, Ms. Ayanna Lewis, Ms. Alisha Romano, Mr. Terrence Beepath and Mr. Gerald Ramdeen were appointed to replace Sen. the Hon. Christine Kangaloo, Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan, Sen. the Hon. Paula Gopee-Scoon, Sen. the Hon. Dennis Moses, Senator Allyson Baksh and Senator Daniel Solomon respectively on a temporary basis.
The Senate paid tribute to former Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, who passed away on Saturday July 2, 2016. A minute of silence was observed.
Temporary Senators Mr. Ndale Young, Mr. Wayne Innis, Ms. Ayanna Lewis, Ms. Alisha Romano, Mr. Terence Beepath and Mr. Gerald Ramdeen took their oath of allegiance.
The Finance (No. 2) Bill 2016 was brought from the House of Representatives by the Minister of Finance. It was agreed that the next stage of the Bill will be taken at the Sitting on Thursday July 7, 2016.

Senator Wade Mark raised as a matter of the adjournment, the failure of the Government through the Leader of Government Business in the Senate to table a report on the Cabinet’s decision in response to the resolution unanimously approved by the Senate on the Sustainable Development Goals pursuant to Standing Order 41.2 of the Senate Standing Orders. Sen. the Hon. Jennifer Baptiste-Primus responded.
Prior to the adjournment, the Senate brought greetings to the Muslim community in observance of Eid-Ul-Fitr on July 6. The Sitting concluded at 5:49 p.m. The Senate adjourned to Thursday July 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
