The Minister of National Security, Hon. Stuart Young, MP, made a statement to clarify the details of the Administration of Justice (Electronic Monitoring) (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and to ify misinformation regarding the procurement, installation and operation of electronic monitoring equipment and those charged with using it.
The Leader of the House moved a motion that the JSC on the Cannabis Control Bill, 2019 be allowed an extension of two months in order for the Committee to complete its work and submit a final report by June 30, 2020. The motion was approved.
She moved a second motion that the JSC on the Miscellaneous Provisions (Local Government Reform) Bill, 2019 be allowed an extension of one month in order for the COmmittee to complete its work and submit a final report by May 31, 2020. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of the The Miscellaneous Amendments Bill, 2020. Debate began on the Bill. The Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. Amendments were made and approved. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
