The Speaker granted leave of absence to 18 Members of the Opposition from today’s Sitting.
The Electronic Payments into and out of Court (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was read a first time in the House. The Attorney General sought and obtained leave for the next stage of the Bill to be taken later in the proceedings.
There were 18 Questions on Notice listed on the Order Paper. The Speaker indicated that due to the absence of the Members of the Opposition from the Chamber, all 18 questions lapsed.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Electronic Payments into and out of Court (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The Bill was later read a third time and passed.
The Minister of National Security moved a Motion in the name of the Prime Minister asking the House to Approve the Notification of Her Excellency the President of the Nomination of the Police Service Commission of Ms. Bliss Seepersad as a Member of the Police Service Commission. The Motion was approved.
