Three Bills, the Cybercrime Bill, 2014, the Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Security Agency Bill, 2014 and the Finance Bill, 2014 are to be introduced. See the Supplemental Order Paper.
The Minister of Transport moved the second reading of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic(Amendment) Bill, 2014. The Member for Diego Martin North/East was the first to enter the debate followed by the Member for Oropouche West, the Member for St. Joseph and the Member for Tabaquite. Four Members made contributions before debate on the Bill was suspended.
The Minister of Legal Affairs moved the second reading of the Miscellaneous Provisions (Licensing Committee) Bill, 2014. The Member for St. Joseph was the first to enter the debate, followed by the Member for Diego Martin North/East and the Member for La Horquetta/Talparo. Debate on the Bill was then suspended.
The Leader of the House moved a Motion asking the House to refer the Legislative Proposal entitled, “the Draft Houses of Parliament Service Authority Bill, 2014” be referred to a Joint Select Committee of Parliament for its consideration and report. The Member for Diego Martin North/East made a brief intervention before the Leader of the House then rose to conclude. The Motion was approved. The Leader of the House then sought and obtained leave of the House to have the following five members appointed to a Joint Select Committee along with an equal number in the Senate to consider the proposals: Mr. Wade Mark (Chairman), Mr. Colm Imbert, Ms. Marlene McDonald, Dr. Roodal Moonilal, Mr. Jairam Seemungal.
At the next sitting debate is expected to begin on a Private Motion by the Leader of the Opposition on the proposed Waste Water Treatment Plant. The sitting ended at 9:05 p.m.
