Debate resumed (from January 20, 2015) on the Precursor Chemicals (No.2) Bill, 2014. The Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs was the first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Dr. Rolph Balgobin, Sen. Diane Baldeo-Chadeesingh and Sen. David Small. Six Senators made contributions (12 over the course of three days of debate) before the Attorney General rose to conclude. Debate was then suspended.
Following the tea break, Members of the Senate paid tribute to former Senator Alloy Lequay, who passed away on March 15, 2015 at the age of 90. The Leader of Government Business, Sen. Faris Al-Rawi, Sen. Dr. Rolph Balgobin and the President of the Senate paid tributes. The Senate then stood in silence for one minute.
At the next sitting debate is expected to resume on a Private Motion by Sen. Dr. Victor Wheeler on the Regional Health Authorities. The sitting ended at 5:51 p.m.
