Vice-President of the Senate, Sen. Nigel De Freitas, advised that the President of the Senate, Sen. the Hon. Christine Kangaloo, was out of the country. Mr. Augustus Thomas was appointed temporary Senator in he absence.
Temporary Senator Augustus Thomas took the oath of allegiance.

Twelve questions qualified for oral answer. Question #132, #172 and #176 were deferred for two weeks.
The Leader of Government Business moved a motion that the JSC on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill, 2018 be granted an extension to May 6, 2019 to complete its work and submit a final report. The motion was carried.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of The Non-Profit Organisations Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill. At the next Sitting, the Senate will consider the Bill in Committee.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the recent termination of seven industrial court judges by the Government. The Attorney General responded.
Sen. Mark raised a second matter on the invasion and politicization of the Judiciary. The Attorney General responded.
