Leave of absence was granted to Sen. Jayanti Lutchmedial-Ramdial, who is ill. Mr. Colin Neil Gosine was appointed temporary senator in her place.
Temporary Senator Gosine took the oath of allegiance.
The Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2024) Bill, 2024, which was passed in the House of Representatives on June 7, 2024, was read a first time in the Senate, in the name of the Minister of Finance. The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, moved that the next stage of the bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was carried.

The Leader of Government Business moved a motion asking the Senate to extend the time to report of the Special Select Committee of the Senate appointed to consider and report on the Miscellaneous Provisions (Trial by Judge Alone) Bill, 2023 to July 5, 2024. The Senate agreed.
The Minister of Finance moved the second reading of the Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2024) Bill, 2024. Seventeen senators added their voice to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Finance. The bill was read a third time and passed.
