The Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Sen. the Hon. Allyson West, concluded her wind up of the debate on the Valuation of Land (Amendment) Bill, 2018. Following this, the Bill was taken to a Committee of the Whole Senate for consideration on a clause by clause basis. Deliberation on the Bill was not concluded. The Committee Stage of the Bill will resume on Thursday April 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
The Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Sen. the Hon. Allyson West, moved the second reading of The Property Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2018.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment namely the decline of the labour force participation rate and its implications on the national economy. Sen. the Hon. Jennifer Baptiste-Primus responded.
Sen. Mark also raised a matter on the failure of the Government to address the high number of school dropouts at the primary and secondary school levels. The Acting Leader of Government Business responded.
