The Deputy Speaker granted leave of absence from today’s Sitting to the Members for Chaguanas West, Caroni Central and Oropouche West.
The Anti-Gang Bill, 2021, which was passed in the Senate on March 16, 2021 was read a first time in the House in the name of the Attorney General.

The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The Member for Barataria/San Juan was first to respond, followed by the Minister of National Security. Five members made contributions before the Attorney General rose to wind up debate. The Bill was referred to a Committee of the Whole where it was considered and approved with amendments. The Bill was then read a third time and passed.
