Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Stuart Young, SC, MP for Port of Spain North/St. Ann’s West.
Two matters of privilege by the Member for Arouca/Lopinot were considered. The Speaker ruled that neither of the two submissions meet the threshold to be raised as matters of privilege.
The Copyright (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was brought from the Senate in the name of the Minister of Land and Legal Affairs, Hon. Saddam Hosein, MP, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was approved.

The Minister of Public Utilities and Leader of the House, Hon. Barry Padarath, MP, made a statement on the Point Lisas Water Transmission Leak Repair Programme.
The Minister of Land and Legal Affairs, Hon. Saddam Hosein, MP, moved a motion to approve the Land Acquisition (Requisition) Order, 2026. Three members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Land and Legal Affairs. The motion was approved.
The Minister of Land and Legal Affairs, Hon. Saddam Hosein, MP, moved the second reading of the Copyright (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Five members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Land and Legal Affairs. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. The bill was read a third time and passed.
The Member for Arima, Hon. Pennelope Beckles-Robinson, MP, raised a matter on the adjournment namely the need for the Government to address the shortage of social development staff in the Arima and surrounding offices which is disrupting service delivery to vulnerable residents. The Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Hon. Vandana Mohit, MP, responded.
