The Clerk of the Senate will read a Proclamation declaring the 5th Session of the 10th Republican Parliament open.

The Vice-President of the Senate granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Vasant Bharath and Sen. Anthony Vieira who are both out of the country.

The Vice-President then read a letter from the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago appointing Ms. Keitha Smith and Dr. Kriyaan Singh temporary Senators. They then took the Oath of Allegiance as a temporary Senators for the day’s sitting.

Three Bills were introduced, the Urban and Regional Planning Profession Bill, 2014, the Land Tenants (Security of Tenure)(Amendment)(No.2) Bill, 2014 and the Precursor Chemicals (No. 2) Bill, 2014.
