The Clerk of the Senate read the proclamation by His Excellency the President appointing the venue, date and time for the commencement of the 2nd Session of the 9th Republican Parliament.

Two Bills, the Trinidad and Tobago National Steel Symphony Orchestra Corporation Bill, 2009 and the Emergency Ambulance Services and Emergency Medical Personnel Bill, 2009 were introduced. The Bills are in the name of the Minister of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs and the Minister of Health respectively.

At its next sitting the House will debate financial legislation still to be introduced in the House of Representatives.
