The Clerk of the House read a Proclamation by His Excellency the President declaring the 4th Session of the 10th Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago open.

The Member for Chaguanas West took the oath of allegiance of a new member.

The Speaker informed the House that His Excellency wished to address the Members of both Houses assembled together. The sitting was then suspended.

His Excellency Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona, SC, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago addressed the Members of both Houses of Parliament assembled together.

The President’s Speech was laid as a House Paper.

The Prime Minister made a statement in the House on the Government’s legislative agenda for the upcoming Fourth Session.

The House adjourned to a date to be fixed. Before adjourning, the Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism, the Leader of the Opposition and the Speaker of the House extended greetings on the occasion of Emancipation and Eid-ul-Fitr.
