Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan who is out of the country and Sen. Gerald Ramdeen who is ill. Ms. Alisha Romano and Mr. Brian Baig will replace said Senators at today’s Sitting.

The President of the Senate informed of correspondence received by the Speaker of the House informing the Senate of the House’s agreement to refer a paper on Cambridge Analytica to the JSC on National Security for consideration and report by July 31. 2018.

Acting Leader of Government Business, Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat. moved a motion that the Senate concur with House of Representatives by referring the statement made by the Attorney General on Cambridge Analytica to the JSC on National Security for consideration and report by July 31, 2018. The motion was approved.
Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Sen. the Hon. Allyson West, moved the second reading of The Valuation of Land (Amendment) Bill, 2018. Debate began on the Bill.
