Sen. Gerald Ramdeen made a request for leave to move the adjournment of the House on a definite matter namely the failure of PETROTRIN and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries to properly contain, curtail and manage the recent oil spill from a storage tank at the PETROTRIN Oil Refinery. The President was not satisfied that this matter qualified under Standing Order 16.
The Leader of Government Business moved a motion to allow a four week extension to the JSC on Insurance Bill, 2017 to allow the Committee to complete its work and present a final report on June 2, 2017. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of The Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2017 and debate began on the Bill. Debate will continue at another Sitting.
