The Speaker of the House received correspondence from the President of the Senate with regards to the establishment of a Joint Select Committee appointed to consider and report on the Family and Children Division Bill 2016 by April 29, 2016.
Six papers were laid in the names of the Minister of Finance (Papers 1-5 were referred to Committees) and the Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister. See Order Paper and Supplemental Order Paper for details.

Hon. Ayanna Webster-Roy made a statement based on the Annual Report of the Children’s Authority for the period ended 30th September 2015. In her statement, she outlined the achievements and challenges of the Children’s Authority in seeking to fulfill its mandate.
Hon. Stuart Young, MP, made a statement on the Highway to Point Fortin, addressing issues related to contracts.
The debate on the Strategic Srvices Agency (Amendment) Bill 2016 which began at the 18th Sitting of the House on Friday March 18, 2016 continued at today’s Sitting.
The House approved the appointment of Hon. Esmond Forde, MP to the Joint Select Committee on Social Services and Public Administration in lieu of Hon. Terrence Deyalsingh, MP.
