Leave of absence was granted to Hon. Devesh Maharaj, MP for Aranguez/St. Joseph, from today’s Sitting of the House.

The two questions, which were listed on the previous Order Paper under Prime Minister’s Questions, and deferred to this Sitting, were withdrawn.
The Prime Minister, Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, MP, made a statement on the nation’s commitment to CARICOM.
The Minister of Land and Legal Affairs, Hon. Saddam Hosein, MP, moved a motion to approve the Land Acquisition (Requisition) Order, 2025. The Member for Arouca/Lopinot, Mr. Marvin Gonzales, MP and the Member for Tobago West, Mr. Joel Sampson, MP, added their voices to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Land and Legal Affairs. The motion was approved.
The Minister of Defence, Hon. Wayne Sturge, MP, moved the second reading of The Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Debate then began on the Bill. Five members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Defence. The bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The bill was approved with amendments. The bill was read a third time and passed.
