The President of the Senate granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon Christine Newallo-Hosein, Sen. Dr. Lester Henry, Sen. Helen Drayton and Sen. H.R. Ian Roach. Mr. Christopher Joefield, Mr. Stuart Young, Dr. Aysha Edwards and Dr. Kriyaan Singh will replace Senators Newallo-Hosen, Henry, Drayton and Roach respectively during their absence.

The Leader of Government Business sought and obtained leave of the Senate to consider Public Business instead of Private Business.
Debate resumed (from February 3, 2015) on the Adoption of Children (Amendment) Bill, 2014. Sen. Rev. Joy Abdul-Mohan was first to contribute, followed by the Minister of Local Government, Sen. Faris Al-Rawi, Sen. Dr. Victor Wheeler and Sen. Diane Baldeo-Chadeesingh. Ten Senators made contributions before, by agreement, debate on the Bill was suspended.
At the next sitting of the Senate debate is expected to continue on the Adoption of Children (Amendment) Bill, 2014 and begin on the rinidad and Tobago Panama Partial Scope Trade Agreement Bill, 2014. The sitting ended at 4:53 p.m.
