The Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, Hon. Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, MP, made a statement on the National Cultural Recognition Policy of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Minister of Health, Hon. Terrence Deyalsingh, MP, made a statement on the Coronavirus.
The Member for Naparima, Mr. Rodney Charles, MP, moved a private motion condemning the Government for its failure to deal with rampant crime. Debate began on the motion.
The Leader of the House moved a motion that with immediate effect, the Member for Oropouche East, Dr. Roodal Moonilal, no longer serve on the JSC on National Security. With 17 votes for, 13 votes against and no abstentions, the motion was carried.
She also moved that an extension be granted to the JSC on the Cannabis Control Bill, 2019 in order for the Committee to complete its work and submit a final report by April 30, 2020. The motion was approved.
The Member for Tabaquite, Dr. Surujrattan Rambachan, MP, raised a matter on the Adjournment of the House, namely the unacceptable rate of violence against minors. The Minister of National Security responded.
