The Member for Diego Martin Central filed two urgent questions, one to the Minister of National Security and the other to the Minister of Health.
The Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2015 was introduced in the name of the Attorney General.
The Minister of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications moved the second reading of the Trinidad and Tobago Panama Partial Scope Trade Agreement Bill, 2014. The Member for Point Fortin was first to enter the debate. The Minister then rose to respond. The Bill was then read a second time. The House then resolved itself into committee to consider the Bill clause by clause. The Bill was considered and passed without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed.
The Minister of National Diversity and Social Integration moved the second reading of the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago (Amendment) Bill, 2015. The Member for Diego Martin Central was first to enter the debate, followed by the Minister of Science and Technology, and the Member for Arouca/Maloney. The Minister of National Diversity and Social Integration then rose to conclude. The Bill was then considered by the Committee of the whole.
The Minister of Transport moved the second reading of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Bill, 2014. The Member for Diego Martin North/East made an intervention, after which debate was suspended.
At the next sitting, debate is expected to continue on the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Bill, 2014 and the Trade Marks Bill, 2014. Before adjourning the Speaker paid tribute to former President of the Senate and Clerk of the House, Mr. Joseph Emmanuel Carter, and to the father of the Member for Couva South.
