Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Dennis Moses, Sen. the Hon. Robert Le Hunte and Sen. the Hon. Rohan Sinanan, who are out of the country and Sen. Sophia Chote, SC, who is ill. Mr. Augustus Thomas, Ms. Ayanna Lewis, Ms. Alisha Romano and Pastor Clive Dottin were appointed temporary Senators in their place.

Three Bills were brought from the House of Representatives as listed on the Order Paper.

Six questions qualified for oral answer. Questions #62, #64 and #65 were deferred for two weeks.
Private Members’ Business took precedence at this Sitting. Debate continued on the Private Motion to Establish JSC – Legislative Formula for Parliamentary Autonomy.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment namely the need for the Government to desist from attempting to influence/direct the Police Service on how to carry out its operational functions. The Minister of National Security responded.
Sen. Mark raised a second matter on the adjournment namely the threat by Government to the constitutionally enshrined right of freedom of expression, as reflected in a Government Minister?s strong criticism against comments made by a former Head of the Public Service. Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat responded.
