The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, moved the second reading of the Property Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024. The Leader of the Opposition was the first to respond. Six members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Finance. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. An amendment was made. With 20votes for, 15 votes against and no abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.
The Minister of National Security, Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, moved a motion to approve the Notification of the President of the Nomination by the Police Service Commission of Ms. Suzette Martin to the Office of Deputy Commissioner of Police. Two members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of National Security. With 18 votes for, 14 votes against and no abstentions, the motion was approved.
