The Vice-President of the Senate indicated that the President of the Senate (Sen. the Hon. Timothy Hamel-Smith) was ccting as President of the Republic. The Vice-President then granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Raziah Ahmed and Sen. the Hon. Gary Griffith. Ms. Keitha Smith, Ms. Ashaki Scott and Mr. Daniel Solomon were appointed to temporarily replace Senator Ahmed, Senator Griffith and Senator Hamel-Smith respectively.

Debate continued (from December 9, 2014) on the Precursor Chemicals (No.2) Bill, 2014. The Minister of the Environment and Water Resources was the first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Shamfa Cudjoe and Sen. Anthony Vieira. Debate was then suspended.
