The President of the Senate made a statement pursuant to Standing Order 2(5) concerning the conduct of Members in the Chamber.

The Leader of Government Business raised a matter of privilege concerning public statements made by Senator Anil Roberts. The President indicated that a ruling would follow. LAter in the proceeding the Vice-President of the Senate was satisfied that a prima facie case was indeed made and the matter referred to the Committee of Privileges for consideration.
The Anti-Gang Bill, 2021 was introduced in the name of the Attorney General.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Tobago House of Assembly (Amendment) Bill, 2021. 16 Senators made contributions during debate on the Bill before the Attorney General rose to wind up. The Bill was considered in Committee and approved without amendment. At third reading, the Bill was passed with a division of 16 for, 14 against, no abstentions.
Senator Hazel Thompson-Ahye raised as a Matter on the Motion for the Adjournment of the Senate the need for the Government to enact legislation against sexual harassment. The Attorney General responded.
At the next Sitting the Senate will take the Anti-Gang Bill, 2021 through all its stages. The Sitting ended at 12:10 a.m.
