The Prime Minister made a statement on a proposed amendment to the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Act that will seek to introduce measures to settle the current impasse following the recently concluded THA election.
The Tobago House of Assembly (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was introduced in the name of the Attorney General. See the Supplemental Order Paper.
Debate resumed on the Evidence (Amendment) Bill, 2020 with the Member for Lopinot/Bon Air West resumed his contribution from the last occasion. Five members made contributions on this day (12 over the course of two days of debate) before the Attorney General rose to wind up the debate. The Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole where it was approved without amendment. At Third Reading the Bill was supported by 40 members, with no members voting against and no abstentions.
The Minister of Health moved a Motion asking the House to approve the Tobacco Control (Amendment) Regulations, 2019 Four Members made contributions before the Minister of Health concluded the debate. The Motion was approved.
