The President of the Senate read into the record greetings extended to the Senate by the Speaker of the Knesset in Israel and the Tobago House of Assembly. The President also indicated that tributes would be paid to former Senator Martin Joseph later in the proceedings.
The Finance Bill, 2015 and the Finance (Supplementation and Variation of Appropriation)(Financial Year 2014) Bill, 2015, were read a first time in the Senate. The Minister of Finance and the Economy moved that the next stage of both Bills be taken later in the proceedings. The Senate approved.

The Minister of Finance and the Economy moved the second reading of the Finance (Supplementation and Variation of Appropriation)(Financial Year 2014) Bill, 2015. In so doing, he also sought leave to debate the Finance Bill, 2015 since they were related. The Senate approved. Sen. Dr. Lester Henry was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Helen Drayton, the Minister of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications, Sen. Shamfa Cudjoe and Sen. H.R. Ian Roach. 18 Members made contributions before the Minister of Finance and the Economy rose to conclude. The Bill was then read a third time and passed. The Finance Bill, 2015 was then read a second time. The Bill was then read a third time and passed.
The Senate then paid tribute to former Senator and Minister Martin Joseph, who passed away on January 5, 2015.
