Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Dennis Moses, who is out of the country and to Sen. Amrita Deonarine, who is ill. Mr. Ndale Young and Ms. Zola Phillips were appointed temporary Senators in their absence.

The President informed the Senate of the establishment of the JSC on the National Statistical Institute Bill, 2018 in the House.

Two urgent questions were posed.
Six questions qualified for oral answer. Question #44 was deferred for two weeks.
The Leader of Government Business moved a motion that the Senate concur with the House in the establishment of a JSC to consider and report on the National Statistical Institute of Trinidad and Tobago Bill, 2018. The motion was approved. Six Senators were appointed to the JSC.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of The Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill and will continue at the next Sitting.
Opposition Senator Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the need for appropriate programmes to assist the protective services. Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat responded.
Sen. Mark raised another matter on the lack of regular gasoline and its impact on fishermen. Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan responded.
