The President granted leave of absence to Sen. Elton Prescott, SC who is out of the country. Dr. Ayesha Edwards was appointed as a Senator to temporarily replace Sen. Prescott during his absence.

The Minister of Water Resources and the Environment made a statement in the Senate concerning the establishment of a National Environmental Task Force.

The Minister Legal Affairs moved the second reading of the Miscellaneous Provisions (Licensing Committee) Bill, 2014. Sen. Dr. Lester Henry was the first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Anthony Vieira, Sen. Faris Al-Rawi, Sen. Helen Drayton, Sen. Dr. Dhanayshar Mahabir and several others. The Attorney General then rose to conclude. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed with amendments. It was then read a third time and passed.
