Annulment of the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Selection Process) (No. 2) Orders, 2021

Sen. Wade Mark moved a motion that the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Selection Process) (No. 2) Order, 2021 and the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Selection Process) (No. 2) (Amendment) Order, 2021 be annulled. Nine Senators responded before the wind up by Sen. Mark. The Minister in the Office of the Attorney General, Sen. the Hon. Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal, concluded the debate in accordance with Standing Order 44(2). With 6 votes for, 21 votes against and no abstentions, the motion was not carried.

Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the need for the Government to address with haste, the treatment of children affected with cancer because of the non-functioning PCR machine at Mt. Hope. The Leader of Government Business, Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat, responded.
