The Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Keith Rowley made a statement on the closure of the Petrotrin refinery and housing initiatives to assist dismissed employees of Petrotrin.
The Leader of Government Business moved a motion that the JSC on The Constitution (Amendment) Tobago Self Government) Bill, 2018 be allowed an extension of five months to complete its work and submit a report by May 27, 2019. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP moved the second reading of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Proceeds of Crime, Anti-Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago) Bill, 2018. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was referred to a Committee of the Whole, for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
The House brought greetings to the nation on the occasion of Christmas. The Siting concluded at 8:12 p.m. The House adjourned to a date to be fixed.
