Three urgent questions were posed and answered.

Two questions qualified for oral answer. Both questions were answered.

The Member for Naparima, Mr. Rodney Charles, MP, moved a motion that the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Selection Process) (No. 2) Orders, 2021 be annulled. Debate began on the motion. Three members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Member for Naparima. With 16 votes for, 20 votes against and no abstentions, the motion was not carried.

The Member for Oropouche West, Mr. Davendranath Tancoo, raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the deployment of tear gas by members of the TTPS against unarmed citizens, civilians and children in public spaces. The Minister of National Security, Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, responded.
