Nine papers were laid in the name of the Minster of Finance, the Deputy Speaker, the Attorney General, the Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, the Minister of Works and Transport, the Minister of Labour and Small Enterprise Development and the Minister of National Security. Prime Minister’s Question Time was allowed today under the Standing Orders at the second sitting of the House in each calendar month. Questions were posed on the recommendations from and renumeration of the Economic Development Advisory Board, the registration of Law Students at South UWI Campus, the financing of the continuation of the Point Fortin highway, the revision of the policy on the importation of foreign used vehicles, the cut back on the number of scholarships awarded and the payment of the second tranche to Cane Farmers.
Four urgent questions were answered.
Six questions qualified for Oral Answer. The answer to question #25 was deferred for two weeks. See Order Paper for details.
The House resolved to Standing Finance Committee to consider the proposal for variations on the Appropriation 2015.
A private motion was moved by the Member for Chaguanas West to ask Government to annul the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Selection Process) Order, 2015. This motion was not approved.
