The Senate resumed the Committee Stage of the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2013. The Bill was considered and passed with amendments. At third reading a division was taken the result of which was 22 for, eight against, no abstentions.

Senator Subhas Ramkhelawan moved the following matter on the Motion for the Adjournment of the Senate, “the inordinate delay in the appointment of a Commissioner of Police due to the protracted process and its negative implications for maintenance of law and order.” The Minister of National Security responded.
