The Senate considered a Private Motion moved by Senator Wade Mark asking the Government to immediately proclaim the remaining sections of the Data Protection Act. Seven senators contributed to the debate before the adjournment.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the need for the Government to reconsider its decision to exclude non-traditional media personnel from covering government press conferences. The Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Hon. Symon de Nobriga, responded.
Sen. Mark raised a second matter on the adjournment regarding the need for the Government to undertake investigations surrounding members of the protective services participating in criminal activities. The Minister of National Security, Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, responded.
