Mr. Rodney Charles sought leave to move the adjournment of the House on a definite matter of urgent public importance namely the failure of the Government to address the worsening refugee crisis in the nation. The Speaker was not satisfied that this matter qualified under Standing Order 17.
Mr. David Lee also sought leave regarding the hasty, deliberate and rushed action of the Government in seeking to dispose of the assets of Petrotrin. The Speaker was not satisfied that this matter qualified under Standing Order 17.
Two bills were introduced in the name of the Attorney General and the Minister of Finance. Later in the Proceedings the House agreed to take the next stage of the Finance Bill, 2018 on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 1:30 p.m.
Debate continued on The Planning and Facilitation of Development (Amendment) Bill, 2018. The Bill was read a second time and referred to a Committee of the Whole. The Bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.
Dr. Roodal Moonilal, MP, raised a matter regarding the casual and ineefective response of the Government to escalating incidents and severity of flooding in South Trinidad. The Minister of Works and Transport responded.
Mr. David Lee, MP, raised a matter regarding the failure of the Government to create an equitable and reliable formula to calculate the severance package of recently dismissed Petrotrin employees. The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries responded.
