The Leader of the House and Minister of Public Utilities, Hon. Barry Padarath, MP, made a statement on the decisive action taken by the government to settle the matter regarding COLA payments to workers represented by the OWTU, at T&TEC, which was frozen since December 31, 2025.
The Home Invasion (Self-Defence and Defence of Property) Bill, 2025Â was introduced in the name of the Attorney General, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken on Wednesday November 26, 2025. The motion was approved.
The Minister of Finance, Hon. Davendranath Tancoo, MP, is moved the second reading of the Virtual Assets and Virtual Assets Service Providers Bill, 2025. The Member for Diego Martin North/East, Mr. Colm Imbert, was first to enter the debate. Three other members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Finance. The bill was then committed to the Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The bill, as amended, was approved. With 25 votes for, 11 votes against and no abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.
The House considered the Senate amendments to the Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The amendments were approved.
