He then read a letter from the President of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago appointing Mr. Don Sylvester, Mr. Wayne Sturge and Mr. Kriyaan Singh as temporary Senators. Archbishop Barbara Burke will continue to serve in place of Sen. the Hon. Devant Maharaj.

The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2013. Sen. Faris Al-Rawi was the first to contribute followed by Sen. Elton Prescott, SC, the Minister of National Security and Sen. Diane Baldeo-Chadeesingh. 19 Senators made contributions before the Attorney General rose to conclude. The Senate suspended consideration of the Committee stage of the Bill until the next sitting.
