The President of the Senate announced the revocation of the appointment of Senator Nadine Stewart by the President of the Republic with effect from 25th January, 2017.
Having granted leave of absence to Sen. Daniel Solomon, the President of the Senate announced the appointment of temporary Senator, Mr. Raphael Cumberbatch, in place of Sen. Solomon. Mr. Cumberbatch took the oath of allegiance.

Debate began on a Private Motion by Sen. Dr. Dhanayshar Mahabir which asks that the Legislative Retirement Allowances Act (Chapter 2:03) be amended to include all Senators within the definition of legislators, and that this be done before the end of the current Parliamentary Session.
