Three questions qualified for oral answer. All questions were answered.
The Sexual Offences (Amendment) (No. 3) Bill, 2021 was introduced in the name of the Attorney General.
Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat, who is out of the country. Mr. Augustus Thomas was appointed tempoary Senator in his place.
Mr. Augustus Thomas took the oath of allegiance.
Debate resumed on The Trinidad and Tobago Special Economic Zones Bill, 2021. Eight Senators contributed before the Minister of Trade and Industry, Sen. the Hon. Paula Gopee-Scoon, wound up the debate. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole Senate for consideration clause by clause. The bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment namely the need for the Government to review the demerit points system. The Minister of Works and Transport, Sen. the Hon. Rohan Sinanan, responded.
