The Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) Bill, 2025

The Attorney General, Sen. the Hon. John Jeremie, SC, moved the second reading of the Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) Bill, 2025. Debate then began on the bill, with nine members making interventions before the Attorney General rose to wind up. The bill was committed to the Committee of the Whole and approved with amendments. With 24 votes for, 6 votes against and no abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.

Matter On The Adjournment
One Matter

Lalite-Ettienne raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the need for the Government to treat with the issue of street dwelling in Port of Spain and the safety and health concerns posed to citizens. Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Sen. Dr. Natalie Chaitan-Maharaj, responded.
