Leave of absence was granted to Ms. Anita Haynes-Alleyne, MP for Tabaquite, from Sittings of the House during the period November 18th – December 10th, 2024 and to Dr. Rai Ragbir, MP for Cumuto/Manzanilla from today’s Sitting of the House.

The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, moved the second reading of the Finance Bill, 2024. The Member for Oropouche West, Mr. Davendranath Tancoo, MP, was the sole contributor to the debate. The Minister of Finance wound up the debate. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. The bill was read a third time and passed.
The Minister of National Security, Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, moved a motion to approve the notification of the President for the nomination of Dr. Wendell C. Wallace as a member of the Police Service Commission (PSC). He further moved that four other similar motions, seeking to appoint Ms. Annika Fritz-Browne, Ms. Ethel Hector-Berkeley, Mr. Roger Babooram and Mr. Ian Kevin Ramdhanie as members of the PSC, be debated alongside the first motion, to which the House agreed. The Member for Oropouche East, Dr. Roodal Moonilal, MP, was the sole contributor to the debate. All motions were approved.
