Mr. Stanford Callender first entered Parliament as a Government Senator during the 4th Republican Parliament (1992-1995). He was first elected to the House of Representatives as the Member for Tobago West in the 7th Parliament (2001). The 7th Parliament failed to elect a Speaker, and General Elections were again held in 2002. Mr. Callender was reelected in 2002 and again in 2007. He has held the office of Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister (Tobago Affairs) for most of the time that he has been a Member of the House of Representatives.
