Senator Sarah Budhu

Ms. Sarah Alisa Budhu was appointed as a Government Senator on 15th September 2015 at the beginning of the 11th Parliament. At the age of 26, she was the youngest female Senator to be sworn in at that time.

Ms. Budhu is the holder of a Bachelor of Education Degree specialized in Technical and Vocational (Business Studies) from the University of Trinidad and Tobago. She has also obtained level 3 certification in Business Management from the University of West Indies Open Campus and is a member of the Association of Business Executives.

Ms. Budhu is a former purchasing manager of a private company and an Accounts and Business Teacher at a private institution. She is set to pursue an Executive Masters in Human Resource Management in September 2016. 

Ms. Budhu serves as Vice-Chairman of the Joint Select Committee Human Rights, Diversity and Equality.
