Mrs. Raziah Ahmed was appointed President of the Senate on February 3, 2015.

Mrs. Raziah Ahmed first served as a Government Senator during the 6th Republican Parliament (2001) and as an Opposition Senator during the 8th Republican Parliament. She would again be appointed a Senator in 2013 during the 10th Republican Parliament, this time as a Minister of Government.
