Mr. Ravi Ratiram was first appointed a Temporary Government Senator during the 10th Republican Parliament. He would subsequently be elected to the House of Representatives as the Member for Couva North in the 12th Republican Parliament (2020-2025).

Mr. Ratiram was appointed as a Senator, with the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries (now Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries), in the 13th Republican Parliament.
