Mrs. Parvatee Anmolsingh-Mahabir served as an Independent Senator during the 7th and 8th Republican Parliaments (2001 - 2007). During the 8th Parliament, Mrs. Anmolsingh-Mahabir also chaired one of the oversight Joint Select Committees with responsibility for Government Ministries, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprise.
